28.-29. May 2020, Cergy-Pontoise

Positive commutators

and propagation phenomena

a mini-conference at the interface of spectral theory, PDEs and mathematical physics

Positive commutator estimates are at the heart of numerous on-going developments in mathematical physics, with applications including spectral theory, Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity and fluid mechanics. This meeting will be an opportunity to explore the connections between different approaches, such as Mourre theory or microlocal techniques, in the broader context of recent advances in partial differential equations and asymptotic analysis.

Getting to the campus

The conference takes place at the Saint-Martin campus, halfway between the stations Cergy Préfecture and Pontoise. At www.transilien.com you can find the best itinerary to either of the two destinations from most locations in Île-de-France. Here are some specific suggestions:

From Paris

The Cergy Préfecture and Pontoise stations can be reached in different ways from Paris (as a rule, local trains are less frequent than the RER, but more reliable):

1. RER A direction Cergy le Haut to stop Cergy Préfecture
2. RER C direction Pontoise to final stop
3. from Gare du Nord: local train H direction Pontoise to final stop
4. from Gare Saint-Lazare: local train J direction Gisors to stop Pontoise
5. from Gare Saint-Lazare: local train L direction Cergy le Haut to stop Cergy Préfecture

For any of the itineraries, a "from-to" (Île-de-France) ticket is needed, to be purchased at a vending machine.

From Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

9518

Take the 9518 bus to end stop Cergy-Préfecture
see 9518 bus schedule

time ≈ 1h,   cost = 1.90€ ("t+ ticket")

From Orly Airport

orlyval

Take the Orlyval to Antony

RER B

Change for the RER B direction Aéroport CDG or Mitry Claye to stop Châtelet-les-Halles

RER A

Change for the RER A direction Cergy-le-Haut and get off at Cergy-Préfecture

time ≈ 1h45,   cost ≈ 17€ (Orlyval ticket and Île-de-France ticket)

Next, if you have arrived at Cergy-Préfecture:

30

Take the 30 bus in direction Pontoise Gare, get off at first stop: Plateau St Martin (see 30 bus schedule, a "t+ ticket" is needed); or walk (15 min - see details)

If you have arrived at Pontoise, then:

30

Take the 30 bus and get off at first stop: Plateau St Martin (see 30 bus schedule, a "t+ ticket" is needed); or walk (10 min - see details)

Venue

Talks will take place in the lecture room Amphi Colloques at the Saint-Martin campus (2 Avenue Adolphe Chauvin, 95300 Pontoise).
